A GAMER had their mobile phone stolen while they played Pokemon Go at an Erskine bus stop.

A 27-year-old man had his phone in his hand when the suspect approached from behind and grabbed it.

After nicking the mobile, the thief then made off towards Baird Drive.

The incident took place on Thursday, August 11 at 8am.

The suspect is described as male, medium to heavy build, about 5ft 4in tall wearing a black hooded jumper, black tracksuit bottoms and black trainers.

Inspector Cassie Glass said: "Please make sure you safeguard your phone at all times, having your phone stolen is a complete hassle.

"It's not just the handset you lose; it's the numbers, messages and photos too.

"Thieves are opportunists, so please don't make yourself an easy target.

"Knowing how to protect your mobile and keep it safe will save you a lot of inconvenience and stress.

"If you're not making a call or using your phone for other media reasons, make sure that your phone is hidden away - don’t make yourself a target.

"Also, avoid getting out your phone at train stations and bus stops as these are areas that thieves target"

Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information which may assist police with enquiries are asked to contact 101 or if you would rather remain anonymous then please phone Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
