A creative arts charity has launched weekly art classes in Paisley to foster family wellbeing.

Impact Arts has announced it will host 10 sessions of its Art Wise programme for parents and carers along with a separate eight sessions for parents and children to engage in art together.

Bosses said: "We're excited to introduce Art Wise to the Paisley community. Through this programme, we aim to provide a nurturing space where families can connect, learn, and grow together."

Designed to bolster the Scottish Government’s Whole Family Wellbeing approach, set up to offer support and reduce the chances of family breakdown, Art Wise aims to empower families to thrive and stay together by addressing individual needs through creative expression and support.

The sessions at Gallowhill Community Centre will be led by a qualified Art Therapist and Wellbeing Support Worker and are open to parents or kinship carers from the Gallowhill area, with primary school-aged children.

The Art Wise programme will offer a unique blend of therapeutic and creative sessions for parents and carers.

Participants will gain insights into understanding their children's behaviour, enhance communication skills, and develop effective coping strategies, all through the transformative power of art and creativity.

Sessions will be taking place on Wednesdays from March 6, 12.30-2.30pm, (excluding Easter holidays).
