An NHS modern apprentice from Renfrew has won a prestigious award.
Mohannad Dawod has been named 1st-year Apprentice of the Year at this year's NHSGGC Modern Apprentice Celebration and Awards Event.
The 37-year-old is currently employed as a pre-registration pharmacy technician, who is undertaking a two-year apprenticeship programme with the NHS working towards his Diploma in Pharmacy Services with West College Scotland.
The college component of the qualification is completed entirely online and is delivered by the college's Greenock science department.
Mohannad told The Gazette: "Winning this award made me feel that my work is being appreciated and gave me a push to keep going and achieve my goals."
Pharmacy technician team leader Fiona McAulay said: "Mohannad is a great asset to our team. He always works to a very high standard and puts patients' needs first. We all congratulate him on a well-deserved award."
Lecturer Matthew Lauder added: "We are immensely proud that Mohannad has been recognised for their dedication to the pharmacy profession.
"It was a privilege to witness Mohannad win this prestigious award and a testament to the commitment they have for providing first-class patient care."
