A MAN has been rushed to hospital after a flat burst into flames in Paisley last night.
Emergency service crews were called to a report of a blaze at a property on Dundonald Road at around 11.40pm on Monday, September 11.
Officers say several residents were evacuated as a precaution during the incident but have since been allowed to return.
They also confirmed the fire is not being treated as deliberate.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Around 11.40pm on Monday, September 11, police and emergency services were called to a report of a fire in a flat in Dundonald Road, Paisley.
“One man was taken to hospital for treatment.
“Several residents were evacuated as a precaution but have since been allowed to return.
“The fire is not being treated as wilful.”
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 11.40pm on Monday, 11 September to reports of a dwelling fire on Dundonald Road, Paisley.
“Operations Control mobilised three fire appliances to the scene, where firefighters worked to extinguish a fire on the first floor of the two storey dwelling.
"One casualty received care from the Scottish Ambulance Service.
"Crews left at 2.20am on Tuesday, September 12, after ensuring the area was made safe."
