THREE people have been injured following a late-night blaze at a takeaway in Paisley. 

Firefighters were called to Johnston Street at around 11.20pm following a report of a fire within a business premises on the ground floor of a four-storey building. 

It is understood the fire took place at Aladdin Tandoori.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) spokesperson confirmed three people were in the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS), but they did not need to be taken to hospital.

Four fire engines were sent to the battle the blaze and crews remain at the scene this morning. 

An SFRS spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 11.18pm on Thursday, June 1 to reports of a building on fire at Johnston Street, Paisley.

"Operations Control mobilised three fire appliances and one height vehicle to a fire affecting a commercial premises on the ground floor of a four-storey building.

"Three casualties were in the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.

"Crews are currently still at the scene."

An SAS spokesperson said: "We received a call at 11.30pm on June 1 to attend a fire at an address on Johnston Street, Paisley.

"We dispatched two ambulances to the scene, but no hospital transportation was required."

Police Scotland have also been contacted for comment.
