JOHNSTONE'S St. Paul's Drama group are set to perform Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber's Whistle Down the Wind.

Based on the novel by Mary Hayley Bell and subsequent Richard Attenborough-produced film, Whistle Down the Wind follows the fortunes of a fugitive caught between the prejudice of adults and the innocence of the young.

Andrew Lloyd Webber and Jim Steinman, together with Patricia Knop and Gale Edwards reset the original story in Louisiana in 1959.

This takes place from Wednesday, October 5 to Saturday, October 8 including a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.

The performance will be at the Johnstone Town Hall.

The cast is made up by Andrew Rodger taking on the lead role of "The Man". Andrew has been involved in musical theatre for many years and a very talented actor who has taken part in over 50 musicals within Glasgow and surrounding area.

Other cast members include, Emily Thomson playing Swallow, Sara Cartwright as Brat and Jamie Young as Poor Baby, the three children in the show.

Their father "Boone" is played by Iain Usher.

Amos is performed by Andrew Scott, Candy is being played on a shared basis, Leah Farrell Smith on Thursday and Friday nights and Sara Goold on Wednesday and Saturday performances.
