A MAN is in a serious condition in hospital after he was stabbed multiple times in an incident police are treating as attempted murder.
Detectives have launched a probe to find the knifeman after the 29-year-old man was found in a Linwood home in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Officers were called to the scene in Bridge of Weir Road, Linwood, at around 3.20am .
An ambulance rushed the casualty to the Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH) in Paisley where he is currently being treated for his injuries.
His condition is described as serious.
Detective Sergeant Michael Lochrie said: “Our enquiries are at an early stage to establish more information on the circumstances surrounding this incident, and to establish where it took place in the local area.
“At this time, I would urge anyone who was in the area of Bridge of Weir Road in Linwood in the early hours of this morning, who witnessed anything suspicious, or who has information that may assist police enquiries to contact Paisley Police Office through 101.
"Alternatively CRIMESTOPPERS can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
