Fashionistas turned out in force for the grand opening of a new mod clothing shop in Paisley.

The town's Orchard Street came alive as scooters roared into action for the launch of the new store.

Smithers Jones opened its doors for the first time and customers were able to browse the range of 60s inspired mod clothing on offer.

Yvonne and Jamie Gatherer, who own the shop, said it was a "fantastic day" and thanked residents for their support.

They said: "Smithers Jones would like to say a big massive thank you to one and all for all of the support and help received on the opening of our new venture in our hometown of Paisley.

"Opening day will be remembered forever with all of our scooter friends and fellow mods and people of Paisley turning up in really cold weather to help us celebrate.

"We are so happy to be involved in the regeneration of our hometown and hopefully other small businesses will follow suit and we can make people want to visit Paisley.

"Please pay us a visit at 5 Orchard Street where we will be more than happy to help with any of your clothing needs."
